Great ideas. I love the ideas of lots of throw pillows for color. And the vinyl wall hangings are a fun way to decorate without being permanent.
String lights are awesome, I love how they warm up a room! I use them for special occasions, but there’s no reason not to enjoy them everyday.
These are such great tips. We’ve been in our house for more than 2.5 years and I still have to do quite a few of these.
I lived in my house since 2007 and have slowly brought new things into it to make it a home. I have to agree a simply thing like a photo or blanket really make things cozier. We got this cute electric fireplace in the one corner and it is my kiddos and my favorite place to sit down and read together. Simple, cheap, but made a huge difference 🙂
I think having lots of cushions always makes a space seem cozy. I also like coffee table Art books to just glance at when you have a quiet moment.
As much as renting sucks, sometimes it can bring out your creative side! Great tips!
I remember renting when I was in my early 20’s…the decor was horrible, lol! Back then I didn’t really care though, so that was a good thing 😉

These are really great tips! It doesn’t take a lot to make a difference in home decor. I used to love that HGTV show design on a dime because they would do so much with so little. Really inspires me to tackle my space!
Great tips! I especially love the hanging some string lights. I never thought of that!
I definitely love rugs in a home! And it’s an easy way to add colour or “fuzz” to a room if you’re renting 🙂

I love all your suggestions. I have had the same furniture for quite awhile but when I want to change my room up, new throw pillows are the first thing I grab. I think fabric, throws and rugs are all great at softening a space. I also love your suggestions about the strings of light. Lighting can really affect the feel of the room. Thanks for sharing.
My parents are moving so they are renting for a year. I will have to share these tips with them.
Yes, to all these suggestions! Living in an apartment, it’s hard to make it feel homey. These will definitely help.

We’re so ready to get out of our cramped apartment and into a home. Until then, we’ve tried a few things to make our space feel more like home. Adding curtains, rugs and pictures made a huge difference.
