7 Amazing Winter Festivals in Michigan That You Will Surely Enjoy!

For many Michiganders, winter is the best time of the year for amazing outdoor activities. Winter in the Great Lakes State offer outdoor enthusiasts and adventure seekers the chance to get their adrenalin pumping while enjoying the beautiful winter view and amazing landscapes.

Aside from skiing, snowboarding, tubing and sledding, ice fishing, dog sledding or hunting, there are also numerous events and festivals that each and every family will surely enjoy. Zehnder’s Snowfest – Frankenmuth (January 25 – 30 2017)

Zehnder’s Snowfest has been host to one of the top snow sculpting events in North America for the past 20-plus years. This event features amazing snow sculptures and extra ordinary ice carvings each year. This festivity also has entertainment for the whole family like the Warming Tent, a fireworks display, petting zoo and variety of children’s activities.

24th Annual Winter Fest – Mackinaw City (January 19 – 22 2017)

Mackinaw City Winter Fest features amazing activities like the Amateur & Professional Snow Sculpting competition, Sleigh/Wagon Rides, Outhouse Races, Arts & Crafts and Euchre Tournament at the Senior Center.  Guests can also dine at the festival’s fish fry and chili cook-off and visit local pubs for live entertainment.

Winter Beer Festival – Comstock Park (February 24 – 25)

The 2017 Winter Beer Festival will feature around 100 Michigan breweries and approximately 1000 different craft beers (beer lovers, you will surely enjoy this!). Guests will also get to enjoy live music and great selection of tasty food!

Plymouth Ice Festival – Plymouth (January 6 – 8)

This ice sculpture festival and competition is one of the most exciting gatherings of its type in the entire country, and you won’t want to miss out. Marvel

The Plymouth Ice Festival is a world-class event that features amazing ice and snow carvings.  Guests can also visit the festival’s incredible interactive ice sculpture park. Sculptures are available for viewing 24 hours a day and will remain standing after the event.

Oakland County, Oakland County Parks, the City of Rochester and Downtown Rochester come together to host the Fire & Ice Festival – a seasonal winter festival in Rochester, Michigan. The festivity also include fireworks display, TasteFest, tube sledding, snow shoeing and cross country skiing, dog sled rides, ice skating, broom ball exhibition, ice sculptures and more!
