Simple Renovations That Can Increase The Value Of Your Home

You might not buy a home with the idea of adding value to it, but you probably hope that the price will head in the right direction as housing prices in general rise. While this can happen it does no harm to give your home a nudge in that direction by undertaking the right renovation project.

These simple renovations will increase the value of your home and make it more enjoyable for you to live there!

Cladding

Homes deal with a huge array of weather, from sun to intense wind and rain. This means the outside is under constant pressure and needs to be cared for. One of the best ways to do this is to add vinyl cladding.

This type of cladding is fairly easy to add to your building and lasts for many years. Even better, not only will it add value to your home but it needs very little maintenance every year! You can contact vinyl cladding suppliers to get price quotes and book your first renovation project in.

Kitchen RenovationKitchen

Did you know that upgrading your kitchen can add as much as 6% of the current value to your home? The great thing is you don’t eve, need to pull it all out and start again. Update your appliances, change the cupboard doors and replace your worktops.  This means the cost need not be that high but the rewards are certainly worth it.

Garage

Returning outside you may already have a garage, in which case enlarging it can be a good way of increasing the value of your home. If you don’t have a garage then now is the time to build one.

The great thing about garages is that they might never be used but they add value and curb appeal to your home; this is perfect when you’re getting ready to sell.

Windows

Double glazed windows are fitted to all new homes and make a significant difference to the look and warmth of your home. If you haven’t already got them this is one renovation you need to do as quickly as possible.

It will make your home look more attractive and increase its value.

If you do have double glazed windows already then it is a good idea to have them tinted; using window tint. This is best done by a professional. The tint can help to provide privacy, make the house look more secure and inviting and will increase its worth.

Extra Room

It is becoming increasingly common for people to take in lodgers to earn a little extra money. All you need is a bedroom, preferably with en-suite. In fact en-suites generally add value to your home anyway.

If you have the space, add an en-suite to a room and call it the guest suite. You’ll add value and appeal to any potential buyers.

It is also important to make sure you stay on top of any small repairs which need to be done. These might not add value but they will prevent bigger problems in the future which can seriously reduce the value of your home!

  • Great tips. Absolutely fix those smaller issues. Not being in a hurry to fix them or not having the money can cost so much more farther down the line when it has turned into something huge. We had a soft spot in our downstairs kitchen caused from a line freezing and breaking. We did not notice the little leak and when we did felt we could take care of it later when we had more money. The result a total floor joint and kitchen floor replacement.

  • Renovating is really important, it doesn’t just help you maintain your home but it also updates it. I think it’s also something that’s worth doing if you’re planning to sell your home.

  • It just makes you feel good when your home looks nice too. I think updates and renovations should be done regularly, and are very important.

  • What an excellent tips. The renovation is so important and stressful but its worth it. I think I need to plan to renovate my house now.
