The Call of the Wild Museum – Gaylord, MI

Maple Syrup Festival – Vermontville, MI
When it comes to delicious maple syrup, nothing can probably beat the ones you can taste at Vermontville, Michigan maple syrup festival.
The annual Maple Syrup Festival in mid-state Vermontville is the quintessential small-town event. It offers arm-wrestling contests, a pancake derby and Bovine Bingo, which involves betting on a square drawn on a football field where a cow is allowed to roam free until it leaves a dropping on the winning number.

Oswald’s Bear Ranch – Newberry, MI
Oswald’s Bear Ranch in Newberry features dozens of rescued and orphaned bears on 240 acres of Upper Peninsula woodlands. This complex is the largest bear only ranch in the USA.
As of this writing, the bear ranch now have 29 bears, 2 huge habitats (1/2 and 1/3 mile perimeter) and 2 smaller habitats (1/4 mile perimeter each). I have never toured a winery but I’ve always wanted to. Michigan is on my bucket list and when I finally make it for a visit, I’m going to start with the wineries and see everything else I have time for.

I am so happy I found this list 🙂 We’ve only lived here a few months, and while we are out experiencing new things, none of these spots/things had really hit my radar yet. I hear amazing things about the UP and really, really want to make it up there soon. I did finally get to see the coast of Lake Michigan, though it was rainy, it was still beautiful.

Fenn Valley in Fennville, MI is a fun (and tasty) winery to visit! I’d also looooove to go to the Maple Syrup Festival some time. Michigan maple syrup is so delicious 🙂
These are all beautiful! My favorite would be Pinnacle Falls. It would be nice to spend a day there. The place is peaceful and serene, the perfect place to relieve stress.
The sunrise photo is stunning! I love watching sunrises and sunsets. They are just awe-inspiring. My cousin was born and raised in Michigan, but moved to Florida when he started a family. I would’ve stayed in Michigan if I were him. Its such a beautiful place to raise a family.
