This Natural Bridge In Michigan is Truly One of the Best In The World!

When we talk about bridges in Michigan, there’s one particular name that will instantly jump out at people’s mind – Mackinac Bridge. It’s a very popular bridge not only in Michigan and its neighboring States but also across the United States of America and nearby countries. It’s one of the world’s leading suspension bridges and truly one of the best man-made attractions that Michigan has to offer.

But aside from The Mighty Mac, did you know that Michigan has other amazing bridges that are truly amazing and worth the visit (see these 15 amazing bridges in Michigan list)? On top of that, there’s also one particular bridge in Michigan that is probably the most unique one that you will ever see – the Arch Rock.

Arch Rock is a geologic formation on Mackinac Island in Michigan. It is a natural limestone arch formed during the Nipissing post-glacial period, a period of high Lake Huron levels following the end of the Wisconsin glaciations.  It is commonly referred as Michigan’s “natural bridge” and while it’s not as big and popular as the Mighty Mac, it’s still one of the best attractions around The Mitten State.

The Arch Rock is a major focus of Mackinac Island tourism. It stands on the Lake Huron shoreline 146 feet (45 m) above the water. There are lots of trails and paved roads (like the Arch Rock Road and Arch Rock Bicycle Trail) that visitors can take to personally see this one amazing wonder of nature. It can also be accessed and viewed via kayak or even by one of the island’s popular horse-drawn carriages followed with a short hike.
